The website www.deltos.gr which includes the online shop of Deltos Publishing for the sale of products through the internet (hereinafter the “Website”), belongs to the company “E. Before using the Website, please read carefully this Privacy Policy of Deltos Publishing which is an integral part and consists a whole with the General Terms of Use that govern it. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not enter the Website. This Policy describes which personal information we may collect about the persons browsing our Website either as visitors or as registered users when they use the Website and its services, as well as how we may process this information.

We are fully committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and your personal data during our business. That is why we undertake to comply with the General Regulation 2016/679/EU regarding the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR), as well as with any applicable national, European and international legislative framework regarding the protection of personal data in general, but also specifically in the field of electronic communications.

The services provided through the Website are aimed at a general audience and are not meant for or directed to minors under the age of 18. If we become aware of the fact that we have accidentaly collected minors’ data, we will directly delete them.

Personal data collection:

Personal data is information through which you can be identified. Through the Website, we collect only your data that are absolutely necessary for the specified, explicit and legal processing purposes for which they are intended and no more than those required.

We collect your personal information:

(i) When you create a user’s account on the Website and when using its functions

Mandatory: email address and password.
Optional: first name, last name, billing and shipping address, payment methods etc.

(ii) When you place an order/ make a purchase through our online shop

Indicatively:
First name, last name, company name, billing address for the order, shipping address for the order (in case it is different from the billing address), any invoicing information such as VAT number, Tax Office (in case an invoice for companies is requested as proof of payment), information about the payment method, contact phone number, email address, special notes/ instructions from you regarding your order etc.

We collect these personal data to carry out a transaction both when you order as a visitor or after having created a user’s account.

However, for users who have created an account on our Website, in addition to the above, we also collect indicatively:
History of orders/ purchases you have made through the online shop, account login data.
Every time you place an order through your account, the above data is enriched and updated. You can view all of your information at any time.

The payment of your order is carried out by charging credit/ debit cards through the international electronic payment service Stripe with which we cooperate, in a completely secure and controlled environment, in order to ensure the confidentiality of the details of the transaction. The relevant users’ information (card details and security codes) is not saved by Deltos Publishing in any case.

In case the recipient of the products included in the order is a different person from the customer and the billing person (eg. gifts), the user responsibly declares that he has the express consent and approval of this third party, for the submission and registration of any necessary personal data that will allow the dispatch and execution of the order and further assumes full responsibility for any claims of this person against Deltos Publishing.

(iii) When you communicate with us either through the contact form on our Website or by any other means eg. via email to send us your complaints or comments etc.

(iv) When subscribing through the Website to our newsletters (email address).

(v) When you browse on the Website, only those technical information that is automatically collected through Cookies that you have allowed to be used.

We do not collect any sensitive personal data.

Please note that if you do not agree to provide us with the information marked as mandatory, the purpose of collecting the specific data will not be achieved and you may not be able to complete your registration on the Website or there might be inability to access and complete your order or failure to ship the ordered products. In any case, our goal is to provide our services in the best possible way. Your data is not subject to any further processing in a manner incompatible with the below purposes.

We use your data:

• When creating a user’s account on the Website

We will process your data for the purposes of managing your registration in our online shop so that you create an account in it, in order to provide you with its functions and to facilitate the transactions between us. The legal basis of this processing is the performance of the contract or taking steps at your request prior to entering into the contract.

Deltos Publishing reserve the right to delete the user’s account in case of violation of the General Terms of Use, without bearing any responsibility to this regard. Further, the user has the right to delete the personal account at any time, by sending a relevant email to Deltos Publishing at the email address info@deltos.gr.

• When placing an order/ making a purchase through our online shop, but also when using your account in general

When you place an order through our online shop, we will process your data for the conclusion and completion of the sales contract between us and in particular for:

– identifying you and securing your access to your account (if you have one),
– informing you about the availability of the products and for our communication regarding the progress of your order and your support regarding its execution,
– the submission and execution of your order, i.e. for the invoicing, payment and shipping of the order.

The legal basis of the processing is the performance of the contract or taking steps at your request prior to entering into the contract. Some personal data is stored in our customer files if it is required in accordance with the applicable legislation, such as data proving the respective transaction for tax and accounting purposes. Further, in some cases we process your personal data tin order to safeguard and protect our legitimate interests, such as security purposes of your account on the Website and purpose of your identification when required, or for the purpose of improving our Website’s services (eg. orders’ history).

We point out again that you will not be able to place an order through the Website if we do not process your mandatory personal data described above, unless if certain information is mentioned as optional.

In case you wish to buy digital books (e-books), it is required to create your own account in our online shop, as only through your account, the e-books can be technically available to you.

In order to manage and improve services provided by us, we provide you with support services for users/ customers and thus we process some of your personal data eg. for the handling of your requests/ questions and for the communication with you and generally in order to respond in the best possible way to your requests eg. requests for product returns, management of complaints.

When we contact you regarding the handling of your order, the processing of your data takes place on the legal basis of the performance of our contract, while in some cases we may contact you for the purposes of compliance with our legal obligations.

You may register your email address through our Website in order to subscribe to our newsletters. The Company maintains a file with the details of the recipients.

However, you can unsubscribe from our newsletters by revoking your relevant consent at any time and be deleted from the communication lists. • Generally for purposes of compliance with applicable legislation (eg. data protection legislation, tax/commercial legislation), and in order for the Company to fulfill all its obligations arising out of law.

• To establish, exercise or support legal claims in the interest of the Company in judicial or extrajudicial proceedings, unless it is in your interest that this data is not processed.

Deltos Publishing do not use your data for automated decision-making, including profiling.

Disclosure of your personal data – Recipients:

– the staff of Deltos Publishing who is legally authorized to process your information for the performance of the tasks or duties assigned to them.

– exclusively authorized third parties, i.e. companies and service providers cooperating with Deltos Publishing, in accordance with our instructions, who support us in the fulfillment of our transactions and in the provision of Website services. For example, we may transmit them:

To external third-party providers of courier services for the transportation and delivery of your order, to payment service providers in order to complete the payment of your order, to providers of technological services/ products for the operation, hosting, maintenance and technical support of the Website, for the processing, support and execution of the transactions through the Website and for receiving and sending communication messages.

– Your data may be shared in order to comply with our legal obligations to public authorities and bodies (eg. AADE) and to other public bodies such as competent supervisory, judicial, police and other administrative control authorities, upon their legal request and in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

The Company does not transfer your personal data to third countries or international organizations.

Without prejudice to what is described in this Policy, our Company will never intentionally share, sell or rent your personal data.

Interfacing of information and links to other websites:

In case the users of the Website are re-directed to third party websites through special links, hyperlinks, banners, etc., the Company is not responsible for the terms of use and protection of personal data that they follow.

Storage period of the personal data:

Your data is stored by Deltos Publishing in our databases, only for the necessary period of time in order to achieve the purposes for which they were collected.
We retain your data for as long as you have a user’s account on the Website. The data collected during the execution of an order/ purchase, are retained until the fulfilment of our contractual obligations, unless retention for a longer period is required, based on a legal obligation, eg. for tax purposes, fraud protection etc. or to ensure our legal claims. In any case, they are not kept for more than ten (10) years, unless there is a pending legal proceeding. The data collected due to your communication with us in the context of support requests, will be retained until the completion of these requests or for a period of five (5) years from our response to the request. In case we process data, based on your consent, they will be retained until such consent is revoked by you (eg. newsletters – by unsubscribing from them).

Security of personal data:

Deltos Publishing have taken all reasonable technical and organisational security measures, necessary to protect your personal data and avoid loss, alteration, accidental or unlawful destruction or unauthorised access to data, illegal or irregular use of it. Of course, as you are already aware, the use of internet can never be absolutely safe.

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data that we process, as long as the conditions of law are met and subject to any of the exceptions set by law:

Right of access:

You may request and obtain a copy of your data kept by us, confirmation as to whether or not they are being processed and how.

Right to rectification:

You may request the correction of your inaccurate data, the completion of incomplete data or their update.

Right to erasure:

As the case may be, you may request the deletion of your data eg. if they are no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which they were collected or if they have been unlawfully processed etc. In case we have a legal obligation to retain this data, we will not be able to proceed with the deletion (eg. retention of transactions’ data for reasons of tax-financial transparency of the Company).

Right to restriction of processing:

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your data, either because their accuracy is contested by you for a period enabling us to verify the accuracy of the data, or because you consider the processing is unlawful but you do not wish the data to be erased, or because the purpose of the processing has been completed but you require the data for the establishment, exercise or defence of your legal claims, or because you have objections to the processing and have exercised the right to object to it, until it is verified whether the legitimate grounds of our right to processing, overrides your legitimate rights.

Right to object:

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data which is carried out in the pursuit of our legitimate interests, as stated above. From the moment the objection is declared, the processing ceases, unless there are other compelling and legitimate grounds for the processing which override your right or your interests and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of the Company’s legal claims. You may request that we transmit your data to you or directly to another data controller, in case your data is processed on the basis of consent or of a contract and the processing is carried out by automated means, unless this right is restricted by law.

Right to withdraw consent:

In case the processing is carried out on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time in writing, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal of the consent.

The exercise of some rights may not allow the conclusion or completion of the contract.

The request to exercise your rights is free of charge, unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or is made repeatedly, in which case a reasonable fee may be charged. We make an effort so that requests are answered within 1 month from their proven receipt. This deadline can be extended for another 2 months, if required. In any case, the applicant will be informed of the said extension and its reasons within one month from receiving the request. Your request has to be clearly stated. Further, you may be asked to provide proof of your identity in order to exercise the above rights and we process your request. This is an appropriate security measure to ensure that your personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. In the event your right cannot be exercised, we will inform you about the reasons for our refusal.
